We are so excited about our new partnership with the Durham Arts Council to bring yoga workshops to local elementary and middle schools through their CAPS (Creative Arts in Public and Private Schools) Artists in Residency program! CAPS is a program that provides an easy-to-use and effective way for educators to integrate the arts into the curriculum. This longstanding program places professional artists in public and private classrooms throughout Durham, Granville, and Orange counties to provide creative and interactive residencies that teach core subjects (math, science, writing, social studies), character education, and a variety of life skills through the arts. CAPS impacts the lives of over 20,000 students each year.
So far in 2015, Y.O.G.A. For Youth has provided yoga classes at Fayetteville Street Elementary School and Bethesda Elementary School through the CAPS program. We will be at Durham East Regional Library and Sandy Ridge Elementary starting in the Spring of 2016. Click here to request Y.O.G.A. For Youth at your school!
