FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: Nan, Lead Y.O.G.A. for Youth Teacher, with Stephanie , Y.O.G.A. for Youth Mentee, and Jessica, who is sponsoring classes for Stephanie at her yoga therapy studio.
Stephanie Galvez-Ramirez is a junior at Enloe High School and a Y.O.G.A. for Youth mentee under the guidance of Lead Teacher Nan Maule. Nan has this to say about Stephanie, “Stephanie is kind, smart, accepting, helpful and inspiring. She comes to my class every Thursday after school, brings friends, helps set up, takes attendance, helps clean up and puts desks back in place all without me even asking her for help! It is obvious she wants to make our world a better place for all.” With true yogic spirit and the heart of a champion, Stephanie has already overcome significant challenges in her young life. A bright future is ahead for her! In 2015, Stephanie plans to offer her skills as a fluent Spanish speaker by translating for Y.O.G.A. for Youth classes with the Latina support group from the Durham Crisis Response Center. We are so grateful to have Stephanie as part of the Y.O.G.A. for Youth community!
Jessica Mollet is going to sponsor classes for Stephanie and one other Y.O.G.A. for Youth participant at Breathing Mountain Yoga Therapy Studio. Jessica, thank you for your dedication and support!
Jessica, RYT 500, IAYT:
“I came to Yoga 15 years ago in my early thirties. The practice had such an immediate, profound and wide-ranging impact on my life that I wondered what it would be like had I found Yoga much earlier. Yoga offers individuals support where they need it most, and the teenage years can be such a tumultuous and expanding time while trying to find one’s place in the world. A practice like Yoga offer teens the self-awareness and stability needed to make better choices that will positively affect their lives for years to come. I’m grateful to be able to share my knowledge and experience of the many gifts of Yoga through Y.O.G.A. for Youth. May all beings be happy, healthy, and at peace. Namaste.”
